Judicial System... Any Alternative In ADR?

Friday, 30th July 2010

"It is in order to solve the problems associated with these delays that a new concept-Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is being preached across the country presently. And this concept is fast gathering momentum across the Nigerian judicial system. Already Nigerian lawyers are beginning to embrace it as a complimentary means of dispute resolution and a way of decongesting the courts. Those pushing for its full introduction into the judicial system say ADR provides a veritable platform for litigants, especially business people to have access to justice without stress. Their contention is that access to justice does not only mean access to the courts, lawyers and the judicial process, but providing opportunity for a just, economical and timely outcome."
