Traders for evolving dispute resolution mechanism

Wednesday, 18th January 2012

"LAHORE - Pakistan Industrial & Traders Association Front (PIAF) on Saturday urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to evolve a mechanism whereby a respective trade body or association may be consulted if a dispute arises between a business group and any of the government departments. PIAF Chairman Sohail Lashari said sealing of Al-Fateh was an unfortunate incident that had sent a wrong signal to the business community but if the association was consulted, the situation could have been avoided. He said, the LDA had taken a condemnable action and sealed the departmental store of the LCCI former Vice President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh without any solid reason. He said LDA’s move created unrest in the traders and they compelled to take to the street to register their protest against the unjustified step."
